Hook 'em

We went to Texas this past weekend to visit Padre and Nancy and had SO MUCH FUN!

I love going to Texas and being with them. Their house is so comfy and relaxing and it is so great to just hang out. We were going to go next week, but Padre's schedule was different than we thought, so we bumped it up to the coming weekend. It worked out perfectly, I have never had such great weather in Texas before. Sunny but not too sunny, hot, but not too hot. We both got a nice little farmers tan coming home to rainy and cold Utah.

We flew in Friday night and introduced Michael to our beloved Whataburger. Actually wait, on the flight in, we got to take first class and it was glorious. Awesome airplane food with plenty of leg room, it was wonderful. Back to the Whataburger, Michael is a fan, especially of the JalapeƱo Cheeseburger.

Saturday we got to sleep in and play with Rudy, Chris and Jenny's chubby chihuahua who is spoiled rotten. He is so fun to play with. He fell in love with Michael quickly and would follow Michael to the bathroom, wait outside the door eagerly, and then get excited once he opened the door. We made the rounds and visited the rest of the family by stopping by their new shop and going to Brendan's baseball game. It was fun introducing Michael to my step brother's and their families. They are just so nice and hospitable. I heart Texas. Brooklyn, the latest and cutest addition to Neil and Angie's family, was also part of the day, and oh man, (insert my baby hungry-ness) she is cute.

Sunday we slept in and laid out by the pool, then Padre asked if we wanted to go to church. Normally when we go to Texas, this isn't something that we do or bring up for various reasons. When Dad asked if we could go, I was somewhat embarrassed that we had not better prepared or expected to go to church. We went to Sacrament Meeting a couple of towns away and I felt the Spirit. I was grateful to be there with two of the most important men in  my life and to share that experience with them. It may seem small, but it was kind of a big deal. The gospel true. The End.

Monday we went to the Stockyards and downtown Ft. Worth. We also went to the Botanical Gardens which were absolutely beautiful. Most of our adventures were based around food, and a lot of it. This trip we discovered Jersey Mike's Subs, Saltgrass, Chef's Point, (where Michael ordered, ate, and enjoyed Ox tail, yuck) and of course we went to Angelo's, the best dang BBQ in Texas. We heart food and our booties prove it.

Here are the few pictures we took while there. More to come from Nancy's fancy camera that I drooled over all weekend. Thanks Dad and Nancy for the perfect vacation! We love you!
