Pretty sure Michael and I knew of each other a long time before we started dating. The first time we actually saw each other was back in the day of early morning swim practice my senior year, but he doesn't remember this at all. We didn't actually speak to each other until a couple of months after he got home from his two year mission in Peru. All I knew was that I wanted a Mike Vineyard date because most of my friends had had one and I am not one who likes to be left out. After our first conversation however, we both left thinking the other person was the biggest jerk on the planet.
That impression was soon changed as we started to hang out more. This was in October. I would invite Michael and his friends over to have Mickey Mouse waffles because the fastest way to a guys heart is through his stomach. I thought my tactic had worked but by the time December had rolled around, this dude still had not asked me out. What's up with that? A girl can only drop so many hints before looking too desperate. I had had enough of this waiting. I was going to make this boy take me on a date.
The perfect opportunity came one night as we were hanging out in front of Nicki's parents house. Michael was showing off his air soft gun that he had in his car in case he ever needed protection. He wanted to shoot something of substance to show off his skills, so I offered to be the prey on the condition that he would take me out on a date. It sounded a little something like this,"I will let you shoot me wherever you want if you take me out on a date." Afterwords there was the LONGEST pause known to mankind before he shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Okay." and then proceeded to shoot me close range in the leg. How romantic. The date was set for a week later and went fairly well. After that we were basically inseparable. More to come.....
