Help!

As you can see, my blog struggles.

I have no idea how to make it cute, but not too cute if you get what I mean.

I just want it to look cool.

Any suggestions?

Six Month Check In

At the end of last  year, we made a list of our goals as a fam bam. Being as it is already June (can you believe it?!) I thought it would be good to check in and see how we were doing.

Our Family Goals for 2011

1. Go to church for all three hours each Sunday in our own ward
We pretty much rocked this one. Being as we both have callings as a Sunday School Teacher and a Relief Society Teacher, we have something to contribute. Come to find out, we actually look forward to going! It makes such a difference when you are willing to put yourself out there and get involved in the ward. We are taking baby steps for sure, but our outlook towards our ward has change greatly. We heart our ward!

2. Run a half marathon together is August
We have been super consistent in our training. We go running at least 4 times a week on top of Michael lifting weights at the gym and me doing Jillian Michael's 30 Shred. Bring it on swim suit season! And my husband is HOT.

3. Learn to budget better and save more
Oy, I think this one is a constant for everyone. Michael did get a second job because he is the best husband ever and this will help our savings account get fatter. It has been such a blessing and his hours are ridiculously awesome.

4. Eat better and healthier
I think it is safe to say that I have cut back on my sugar intake, so I am counting that as a step in the right direction.

5. Graduate and get a real job (Catie)
Graduation? Done! Getting a real job? Still looking and hating it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

6. Go on a trip to at least two of the following: Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Merced, and somewhere sunny
Check! Well, I guess we can give it a Check and a Half. Michael went to Ohio and Kentucky with his side of the family for David's birthday, but I stayed home because of lack of dinero and I had a final. We did however both go to Texas together last month and are planning on going to California sometime this summer.

7. Figure out a new car situation
Pretty sure Jimmer and the Mazda count as a new car situation, so Check!

8. Not get pregnant
No Vineyard babies coming from us for years, Check!

9. Learn basic maintenance for our cars
This one is boring, but Check!

10. More date nights
Because I have the greatest husband ever, we go on dates all the freakin time. It is great. Date after you are married! It rocks.

I think it is safe to say that we are well on our way to accomplishing all of our goals for 2011. We may have cheated by putting things on our list that we knew would happen, but I absolutely love making lists and checking things off. When I was younger, I would make daily lists and put things on it like
-get out of bed
-get dressed
-eat food
-etc

Each time I accomplished the things on my list, I would cross a line through it and feel so productive. I mean, come on, it does take a lot of effort to get out of bed somedays! But seriously, I know there is power in setting goals and working to accomplish them.

The End.
