9. Survived without my husband for two weeks even though it sucked. (If I don't see him after a couple of hours or so, I get sad and grumpy until I do see him)
10. Discovered the Slab, Rooster, Crunch Wrap Supremes without Sour Cream, and Brownie Bites

Our Family Goals for 2011

1. Go to church for all three hours each Sunday in our own ward
2. Run a half marathon together is August
3. Learn to budget better and save more
4. Eat better and healthier
5. Graduate and get a real job (Catie)
6. Go on a trip to at least two of the following: Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Merced, and somewhere sunny
7. Figure out a new car situation
8. Not get pregnant
9. Learn basic maintenance for our cars
10. More date nights

The Six!

After almost two years, a marriage, a mission, another marriage, and a graduation, The Six were finally reunited. I heart you girls!

Christmas 2010

We had our first married Christmas this year which was very Merry if I do say so myself. It was so nice to have a much needed break from school and work to just spend together and with our families. We spent the night at Canlas' so we could spend all of Christmas Eve with them. They were so wonderful to hang out with and the kids were so cute. They were tracking Santa on Google with Jon and there was a report that the jolly old guy was somewhere in Japan or something and that they could calculate his exact location from triangulating his sled from Mt. Fuji. When Michael heard this, he said that it was  a bunch of crap, not remembering that there were little children around. To say the least it was hilarious and luckily the kids were to inthralled with what was on the computer to pay attention, at least that is what I am crossing my fingers happened.

We just hung out all day and it was so fun. I love being with family and not having the stress of a schedule. Callie cooked one of her amazing meals and even made dessert. Sue opened her stocking from us which included the awesome Shake Weight which I have referred to on this blog before. She loved it. We loved watching her open it. This Christmas helped me realize that the presents don't matter, even though I am grateful for them. What does matter is family and remembering Christ. Having Sue leave for her mission in less than fifty days is finally starting to hit me. I have only spent about 18  months without her in my life, and that is because she wasn't born yet. It is going to be such a blessing to have her on a mission, but I am going to miss my little sister, my co worker, and my friend. 

Christmas day was very different but good at the same time. We went spent the night at Michael's mom's house and woke up to a silent house. There weren't any kiddos running around causing a ruckus and showing me their presents. At first I was very overwhelmed because it was my first Christmas without the family I had grown up with. But then I realized that this was the first Christmas I got to spend with my new family and most importantly Michael, so that helped put me at ease. We had crepes for breakfast which is one of my favorite Vineyard traditions and then I gave Michael a true Davis girl stocking. Growing up, stockings were usually just as good as your present, if not better. He loved it and is excited to add that tradition to our family. We lounged around and then attempted to go shooting with Stalton, but the range was closed. So then we headed back to the house and opened presents with everyone. Michael also opened his two Nerf guns which was a hit with all the men and later caused a Nerf war. It was awesome and that is also the same present that our three year old nephew got. Loves it.

 I love my new family and how welcoming they are to me. I am grateful for the new siblings I have. Michael has 3 brothers and 1 sister. I have 4 sisters and 1  brother. Together, we make the perfect combination and I appreciated so much spending time with my new family more. Those guys are HAlarious. Then we had Christmas dinner at the Lambson's and read the First Presidency's message for Christmas. It was so cute to watch Grandma and Grandpa Lambson cuddle on the couch. Within this year, his Alzheimer's has made it so he moved into a rest home, and he is just a different Grandpa. Watching him put his arm around her though and watching her face light up like a sixteen year old was one of the cutest things ever. I love family. I love Christ. I am grateful that we had such an awesome first Christmas together. I also love the new Mac that Santa brought us. Yay for FAFSA!

HOW DID YOU GET TO ME?!?!

Growing up in the Davis household, you knew three things were true. There will always be Saturday chores to be done, there were always way too many chiefs instead of indians running around, and that Reba McIntire, Garth Brooks, and The Judds helped raise us all. That being said, when The Judds did a reunion tour, it was the perfect birthday present for Mooder to go with all six of her kiddos. It was SO.MUCH.FUN. We ended up being late and because our section got closed (due to the huge crowd of people who came to see The Judds) and because it was my mom's birthday, we basically got floor seats. You could see the glisten from their horrible red dye jobs. We were that close! It was seriously a blast though, and at one point or another, we all had a flood of memories from our childhood that made us laugh, cry, and then laugh some more. I heart my fam bam!

Thanksmas 2010

Thanksmas is a holiday that my older sister created so that we would be able to spend  quality holiday time with our Padre and Nancy. It has become my favorite holiday as it usually entails a long weekend of visiting, eating, and loving my family.  I  have the best family ever. Sadly, there is not a picture of Michael and I, but we were both there studying and eating with everyone. 

I love the spirit of Thanksmas  and how each and every year, it brings my family closer together. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed me so much with the parents and siblings that I have. It is so funny to think that growing up we would get into fights and hate each other. I can say that my siblings are some of my best friends. I love them all very much. I love being an aunt to my cute nieces and nephews, but I hate it when they are so cute that it makes me baby hungry. And believe me, they are super cute most of the time.  YAY for Thanksmas and YAY for fam bams.

She Did It!

Sue Bear, Winnie the Sue Bear! Carlie got her mission call on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. She said that if she got it before then, that she would wait to open it on Thursday with everyone there, physically and via skype. Yet, about ten minutes after she received it in the mail, she couldn't wait and got our ENTIRE family on the phone and was able to open it with EVERYONE listening. Bendiciones! It is seriously such a blessing that she got all eight of us and then some to be able to enjoy her excitement with.

If you say so...

I have been told that I do not update my blog enough, but honestly, I didn't think anyone read this thing, so there was really no need to update. I guess things that happen in life are not official until they are blogged about or put on facebook, but I promise that we have been productive here in the Vineyard household. I will just list somethings we have been up to so this post, along with our life, has some purpose.

-I made pizza from scratch for the first time, dough and sauce included, and it was so yummy that we had it twice in one weekend.
-Michael and I both have been doing really well in school as of late, and for that we are grateful.
-I got to start training for our new job that we get to do together and be respite care providers for Utah Foster Care. This is a blessing in so many ways, but the main one and my personal favorite is that we get to work together and be together and spend time together. Did I mention we get to go to work together?
-We got a shot gun for Michael's birthday, His name is Stalton. It is after Michael's Book of Mormon teacher which is oh so appropriate. He has been fun to take shooting and has an awesome kickback.
-The Giants won the World Series, which did not have an affect on me in anyway shape or form, but a lot of people I heart were happy they won, so that makes me happy.
-We did a live session at the Salt Lake Temple. Super cool.
-I am learning that I LOVE COOKING, I just never have the time to do it.
-The semester is almost over. I cannot wait for the upcoming Thanksgiving break.
-8 am Saturday morning classes make me want to shoot myself.
-My internships will be over in about a month. I am grateful for both of them, but will be even more grateful when they are over. I have learned a lot from both, but one is much more beneficial for me than the other and I cannot wait for that one to be over. I am seriously counting down the days.
-We got to volunteer at the Women in Philanthropy Gala. Fun experience and it was where we had our reception, so basically all night I was just having flash backs of our wedding day and it made me happy.
-Nigel gave me a flower today and it was the cutest thing on the face of the earth.
-Life is good. Read your scriptures and say your prayers.

As Seen On TV

I am a sucker for infomercials. I own a couple of things that have the super cool As Seen On TV logo on them and I am going to tell you why they are oh so awesome. 

This little beauty makes my arms BURN. Seriously, it hurts so much after each work out, but it is the type of hurt that feels good so I keep on coming back. I love that I can do a ten minute workout so I feel semi productive in the exercise department during my cram packed semester. I heart my shake weight and am not afraid to admit it. Come feel my arms and you'll become converted too.

I also own a Snuggie. My mother-in-law got it for me for Christmas last year and I am a convert to the Snuggie cult. I can read a book without having to get out of my blanket. I can change the channel with my remote and still stay warm. This thing has changed my life and can change yours too! 

And  last but not least, I own the Perfect Brownie Pan. It truly makes the perfect brownies each and every time. 

As Seen On TV people, though many mock and make fun of you, I appreciate all of your hard work and useful products. Though I am ridiculed daily for using your products, I will continue to do so, because I know what a life changing resource it is. Thank you As Seen On TV people, you have made my life complete. Bwahah. 

Update

Michael got his first bike this summer. Her name is Genevieve. She is blue. He took her on a ride and I followed in my car so I could take pictures. He loved the paparazzi as you can tell. 

 Padre came to visit for the birth of Davis. We got to pick him up from the airport and then take him on a drive through the Alpine Loop. It was his first time and he loved it. It was perfect as the leaves were still changing colors, and it smelled so great. I heart the Alpine Loop!

 We hosted 4th Sunday Dinner. It was a blast as you can obviously tell. 

How could you not love this face?! This kid is awesome. The end. 

 Michael went on his two week trip to look at rocks all over the state of Utah. He likes rocks. 

 We celebrated our six months by going to see a movie. The movie really sucked, not to mention the noxious couple in front of us, the movie turning off for about ten minutes about 45 minutes into the movie, the list could go on and on. I was just happy to get a date with the man I love and celebrate 6 months of marriage.
